Tapping vs Surrogate Tapping for Animals?

Tapping vs Surrogate Tapping for Animals

Today's topic: How to get the best results on animals with EFT tapping? Is direct or surrogate tapping the most efficient?

Watch on Youtube!

Intro

In this article, I want to share my experience with tapping, also called EFT tapping on/with/for our animal friends.

So if you’re not familiar with EFT or tapping, it’s an alternative method developed by Gary Craig in the early 90’s that allows to release blocked emotions in the body and restore the body's energy balance. I’ve used it for many years on myself and clients. Nowadays, if I don't use it as much due to my own evolution as an energy healer and practitioner, I still find it very useful in specific situations.

But, I believe that the classic tapping method is an amazing tool, especially if you are beginning or still quite new to energy work on yourself or on animals. It gives a very good basis for further energy work and healing practice.

It is very practical and fairly easy to use. It’s main advantage is that you can easily physically feel the release of energy as you do the procedure, and therefore you get a direct feedback on what you are doing, as you are doing it, even though the outer results might take some longer time to show, you know tangible changes are on their way.

I won’t go into details on the tapping technique itself here. It isn't the purpose of this article so I put the link on one of Gary Craig's video - EFT basic recipe. However, if you're interested on this topic, let me know, and I’ll make sure to cover it in a next article and video! For instance on the set-up sentence or on the repeating sequence. It’s a vast topic!

Direct VS Surrogate

With my animal clients, I’ve used both Direct and Surrogate tapping.

So what does it mean and what are the differences?

Direct tapping means doing the tapping procedure on the animals themselves directly. Using the appropriate tapping points on the dog, cat, horse, etc. In this case, I usually use only the basic tapping recipe.

Surrogate Tapping means that I do not do the tapping on the animal directly but use myself or another person as an intermediary, as an antenna. So I tap either on myself or on another person instead of tapping on the animal I am working with. In this case I sometimes also use the points on the hand; I however never do the 9 Gamut… I don't feel it resonates with animals.

In which case is Direct Tapping better?

I like Direct Tapping, when the deeper work has already been done with the animal and I use it to reinforce the progress made when faced with the difficult situation. For instance, if your pet has a huge fear of thunder or noises, you can do some tapping on them as the thunder starts or as soon as you see them feel a little uncomfortable, to reactivate the positive work previously done.

I use it when the issue is mild or nearly gone/healed and you simply want to make sure your animal remains calm as the situation presents itself again, until it completely disappears.

Sometimes, I use direct tapping for the complete opposite situation: a highly stressful situation, when I can actually help the animal by doing some tapping on their head or heart chakra. Please make sure you do this only if it is safe to stay close to the highly-stressed animal, especially if it is a horse or a cow

However, in most cases, I prefer Surrogate Tapping. Why?

The 4 Main Reasons I prefer Surrogate Tapping

#1
It’s easier to connect with the animal and focus on the feelings, emotions, sensations I perceive when I don’t work on the animal directly.

#2
If the issue worked on is very critical, challenging or distressing for the animal., I find it more comfortable both for the animal and the practitioner to work from a distance. You can work anytime, from anywhere, without having the animal to be in complete stress or panic; and also when you are not being exposed to a highly stressed or scared animal, you can be more efficient and clear-minded; it is more respectful and… here we move to reason #3

#3
It is less invasive. Some animals don’t like the tapping at all. If they are very anxious, shy or have any other issue related to humans, etc, tapping on them directly only add to their stress and anxiety. I have found out that when I was doing direct tapping through animal communication only, my animal clients didn’t like some of the tapping points - or the tapping at all! Remember, they are a lot more sensitive than we are to energy work.

#4
By using surrogate tapping, you can help any animal: wild animals or animals that are far from you - energy work doesn’t care about the distance!

These are the reasons why I mainly use surrogate tapping, and very often using myself as an antenna. If the case is really heavy or I am too involved emotionally, I use someone as the surrogate. It allows me to be more focused on my work as a healer, to find the right words, right sentences...to guide the animal towards a better state.

Results are impressive, both for physical pain and emotional issues. Sometimes they happen very quickly, sometimes it takes a few sessions, depending on the issue. I have noticed that it can sometimes take a couple of days until the changes are noticeable.

So this it for today’s topic!
